Ian Kelly is a rapper and storyteller hailing from the heart of Oakland, CA. Originally discovered by 9th Wonder, His lyrical prowess and magnetic stage presence have made him a standout figure in the Bay Area's thriving music scene. With a profound connection to his roots and a passion for reflecting the real-life experiences of those around him, Ian has crafted a unique sound that blends the soulful essence of Oakland with the raw authenticity of hip-hop. Ian Kelly has collaborated with Jamla Records on their compilation album, Jamla Is the Squad II, with 9th Wonder as the sole feature artist on 9th Wonder’s 2020 release Zion V: Ballad of Charles Douthit and the release of his 2021 project Kells is D.E.A.D. which was named amongst the Top 10 Bay Area albums of 2021 by KQED. His 2023 release Soulful of It has granted him the opportunity to Freestyle on Sway In The Morning, get featured on Ebro Darden’s Ebro Show on Apple Music, and perform with Robert Glasper. He is a member of the Oakland based collective Macarthur Maze. Ian Kelly's music can also be heard on EA Madden 22 and Hulu’s HOMEROOM soundtracks.
